This is such a powerful message. It shows that verbal abuse can hurt as much as physical abuse. That saying “Sticks and stones may break my bones but words can never hurt me” is, in fact, a lie, in my opinion. Words do hurt. A lot. It’s as simple as that. We all get mad and say things sometimes. It gets to the best of us in our moments of anger but don’t let those moments define you. Don’t become the abuser; don’t be hurtful to others with an offhand comment because in the end, it hurts and cuts more than you may think.
